When I walked into your store on 8/16/18 to make a reservation for 8/17/18, Gilberto Garcia told me the mileage rate was $.79 per mile plus $19.95 for a cargo van + tax. I told him that U-Haul's online advertising for your zip code states that mileage rate is $.69 per mile and that another U-Haul store on Stone Oak Parkway also told me that the mileage rate is $.69 per mile. Gilberto went online and confirmed the rate listed for U-Haul is $.69 per mile. He stated that he would adjust the rate to $.69 per mile once I returned the vehicle on 8/17/18, but that he might not be in on 8/17/18, so to mention to whoever was on duty at 10 a.m. the next day. When I arrived to pick up the van, a young man named Rolando was on duty and I explained the advertising for the mileage rate that I spoke to Gilberto about the prior day. Rolando also checked your U-Haul advertising and he wrote on both the store copy and my copy of the contract that mileage rate was to be charged at $.69 per mile when I returned the van. After 2 1/2 hours of usage, Rolando inspected the vehicle and closed out my bill but he did not give me a copy of the paid receipt and told me that he sent it to my email address. I asked if he had made the adjustment on the mileage rate and he said yes. I came home and found out that I was charged at the higher ($.79/per mile) rate instead for a total difference of $.80. THIS DID NOT LEAVE A FAVORABLE IMPRESSION OF A RETAIL MERCHANT KEEPING THEIR WORD BASED ON THEIR ADVERTISING TO GET CUSTOMERS TO COME TO THEIR ESTABLISHMENT. IT IS THE PRINCIPLE OF THE MATTER OF BEING STRAIGHT-FORWARD AND HONEST THAT KEEPS CUSTOMERS COMING BACK..

Literally the worst experience I've ever had with Uhaul. I did the phone pick up because it seemed like the process was faster but after 20 minutes I finally got approved and then a system error made it seem like my payment hadn't been received. I was not only charged for my uhaul but received no instructions and had no idea where the keys were. I searched for nearly 40 minutes, then spent 18 minutes waiting just to get someone from customer service on the phone and another 34 minutes just to find out the vehicle was not staged for pick up and no one could do anything for me. The only plus was the refund and the $50 to my account for the error but it shouldn't have happened.

The employee at the uhaul location (the mailing spot) was totally incompetent and did not know what he was doing. He did not inform us of the complicated drop off procedure or that the store would be closed at our scheduled drop off time the next day or that we could only drop the truck off at that location. It was a huge headache and took an extra hour and more miles we had to pay for on the rental. Very frustrating experience after an already long moving day.

When I showed up at 9am the business was not open. I waited for 20 minutes and FINALLY an employee opened the store. This is was EXTREMELY unprofessional and apparently not the first time because while I was waiting another customer left a note and told me “this always happens, they typically don’t open until 15-30 minutes after 9, I’m leaving this note and they won’t have my business anymore.” The note said “guess you don’t like opening on time. I’ll take my business elsewhere.” I will NEVER use this location again for anything. Horrible Uhaul experience.

The staff person was very friendly and helpful. However, the location was not a major U-Haul site. I could not just park and leave the vehicle in the parking lot nor leave the keys in a dropbox. I had to go inside the business. I found out that they had limited spaces for the trucks behind the retail stripcenter. Fortunately, I was able to leave the truck there because of available space. Somewhat confusing. I will emphasize that I received very attentive customer service.
