In the middle of a workday we arrived at a closed office in an industrial-park cul-de-sac. Door locked, no answer to a knock. I called the phone number on the door and a harried-sounding man answered. He told me to scan the QR code to download the app, input a code on the lockbox (which he admitted was hard to manipulate) to get the truck key. And I was on my own from there. Not an auspicious start. I was NOT expecting this. I spent several days loading and (having no other choice) departed at night in heavy rain, on twisty mountain roadway that was under construction. Not fun. No room for error, no place to pull off. I thought there was something badly wrong with the truck, it was shaking so badly. I've driven trucks in the oilfield on bad gravel roads, I have an '85 Chevy that doesn't even have an AM radio; I'm used to a rough ride. This seemed engineered to magnify the road bumps, not smooth them out. I couldn't see the dash clearly. Slowing down made things worse. And this was on seemingly-smooth freeway, not rough roads! Thank God, I finally reached some pavement that wasn't seemingly made of speedbumps and figured that the bottom of the truck was not in fact about to fall out from under me. But at intervals for the next two days, suddenly I'd be vibrating like a Christmas present being shaken by a preschooler. And this would go on for *miles.* Fortunately the whole drive from Salt Lake to Cleveland wasn't like that, but enough of it was to make the trip memorably miserable. There were times I had to just pull over to take a break from being a paint can. "Gentle Ride" who are we kidding? You could have mixed martinis for James Bond in that truck. I won't know for some time whether the sustained large-amplitude vibration damaged the delicate movements of the antique clocks I was carrying, although they were *very* well-packed and padded. It will be a while before we're able to reassemble them, get them set up and attempt to get them running again. They were running when we packed them, that I know. The fuel costs were also a good deal higher than expected. I'd been told that the larger truck (an "availability upgrade" that was supposed to come with a $200 discount that I did not see) would get better gas mileage than the smaller truck. I was anticipating perhaps 12mpg, maybe 10. I consistently saw less than 8mpg on the whole trip. Every gas stop was over $100, and never did I drop below a quarter tank. SLC-CLE, do the math. The app was problematic. Taking the photos at pickup was mostly problem-free, but I was unable to change the time and location for drop-off. Fortunately, the human being I spoke with on the phone was very helpful about changing the drop-off time and location - and I did not have to fight endless bots to reach them, thank you! Overall, this was an experience I hope to never repeat.

Rick SSurprised to pay a fuel surcharge when the rental was returned with more fuel than when picked up. I am wondering why I even took the time to go to the fuel station. I have photos of when I picked up and thought I would have access to the photos when I dropped it off, but I cannot find them.
Chris HTracy was so nice and very helpful. After a long 3days of moving packing and unpacking my brain was all over the place. I had to go back 2 times since I forgot to do stuff (my choice) and he was so easy going and understanding.
Karrie MVery accomadating.
