The U-Haul was not clean on the inside, smelt like cigarettes and there were cigarettes in the cup holders. I had also booked the U-Haul weeks in advance and was told I had a reservation guarantee or I would receive some money back. They called the day before saying they did not have a truck for us on the day we booked and instead said we could take a truck that evening. This was inconvenient for us as we had to change all our plans. We also did not receive the money back from the reservation guarantee as â€œthere was a truck availableâ€ even though it was not on the day we wanted. If we did not use the truck that evening we would not have had a truck on the day we originally needed it, therefore I think we should have gotten some compensation. I would not recommend this service and you are required to call ahead I guess to make sure you actually have a truck for the day you need it.Paige W.

This location isn't filling up their tanks to full, and it was an exorborant amount to fill up the tank at the end of the day, even though we used it to drive 30 minutes overall within the city. Also, the man that we dealt with at this location was very grumpy and rude, and wasn't wearing a mask.Matthew B.

We had booked a rental for last Sunday, when we discovered all Uhaul systems were down. While that was unfortunate, we rebooked for the following Tuesday and everything went smoothly, with no issues whatsoever regarding pickup, dropoff, truck condition, etc. Also wanted to say thanks for Uhaul honouring their truck availability guarantee to make up for the Sunday disruption!Kwesi C.

A friend made the booking online; we put it on my credit card and I did the pickup and driving. The first surprise after making the booking and specifying a preferred pickup location and what we thought was the earliest available pickup time, was in a phone call later that day, finding out that our pickup location would actually be a few kilometres further away. And when we picked it up, we found out we could have picked it up sooner. Granted, we did make the reservation on just a few days' notice, and there may have been fine print about time and location that I did not see. My biggest complaint is that I didn't realize until a little ways down the road, and probably past a speed trap, that the large, visible speedometer numbers are in MILES per hour, not kilometers. I may be eventually getting a surprise in the mail. Other than that, things went well. It was ready at the promised time, staff were friendly. Pickup and dropoff went smoothly. In trying to post this review following the emailed link, I got â€œThis site can't be reached. offline.uhaul.com refused to connectâ€. A few times. Tried again another day.David H.
One slight issue. The truck had a â€œcheck engineâ€ light on when I picked it up, which I pointed out. I was told not to worry about it, but it was a bit matter of fact given I had 600 km of highway driving in front of me.James F.

Your online pick up is horrible. Who brings a passport to pick up a vehicle? It kept telling me that I needed to add alternate contacts and then it would tell me I could not use that name as it was already submitted and it wasn't. Then when I asked the staff if they could help me they said no. It was an online rental. After 40 minutes of continuous frustration online. I begged them to cancel my current reservation. They do so reluctantly, but without helping numerous other customers first and continually stopping to help me to talk care of customers that phoned. It was like I was an annoyance to them. It was a full hour after showing up to pick up my truck the I actually got on my way, but they were sure to tell me that my five hour rental was still due back in four hours now or I would have to pay a 250 dollar late charge. My recommendation for my friend will be to go to u haul as a last resort and expect poor service if you have a problem. My recommendation for u haul would be to test your software with real user to see where customers get stuck, create software that actually recognizes and Alberta license and picks up the correct number when it's scanned, which is what I believe caused the constant questioning about my identity. I had no problem using my license and cc with in person help. Your online system did not like my license though. Training your staff to have some empathy for customers that are delayed, or frustrated with the online system. Teaching staff to actually be helpful rather than simply tell a customers they have no training and can't help. Teaching staff to actually make a customer feel like they are valued and they are interested in helping. Overall the truck was fine and the job got done but my online experience and your staff have me determined to rent from anyone but u haul. Ext time.
