Truck was in a little rough shape, check engine Light came on and the hvac controls and radio controls don’t work right No key box for drop off either so I have no idea how I am supposed to securely drop off this vehicle

Comment U-Haul Fonctionnement des avisThere was some confusion at time of pick-up. The clerk took photos of my drivers license (that's normal) but then said I was good and handed me the key. No instruction on what steps I needed to take next other than he said to take a photo of the gas gage and mileage (which I did) before I left. I later received a text message from Uhaul stating that I needed to take photos of the license plate and confirm the condition of the vehicle before leaving the lot. I had already left the lot so I must have received this text message while I was driving away from the lot. I was busy using the truck and moving furniture into it and then transporting it back to my home to unpack it. I didn't actually read this Uhaul message until well after I got the rental. This step should have been explained to me from the clerk ("you will receive a text message shortly. Be sure to follow the instructions on the text prior to leaving the lot" would have been helpful so I could have done the proper steps) I was also told there was no drop box and to return the truck the following day (this was a bit inconvenient as I had to park it on the street overnight, where as I was told over the phone when booking the truck, that I just needed to take it back to the lot and drop it off the same day. I was not charged for having the truck this extra time, but it was an added step as I needed to change my plans Sunday morning in order to fit in the return of the truck.) The Check engine light was also on... and when I informed the store guy.. he just nodded and said yes. I didn't have any issues at all with the truck so that's all that mattered. I never received any paperwork at time of pick up however I did receive a paid receipt after I returned it which I appreciated. All in all... the truck worked and it did what I needed it to do. I returned the truck in the same condition it left the lot in the next day, but the process was confusing and not very clear, even after asking some very specific questions on what my responsibilities were at time of pick up from location. I will continue to use Uhaul... and will be better informed the next time I use them.
Chris DThe staff and customer service at Hilltop convenience where incredibly professional, polite, co operable, knowledgeable, helpful and efficient. Will seriously think about renting more equipment at this location. Great team!
jason H1. one of the headlight was burned. 2. even though i had completed everything online, the attendant asked me the questions all over again even after i told him i had completed everything online. and he could see it.
