I rented a small truck to transport items to a flea market about 12-15 miles awayfrom my home. The trip was one of the worse drving experiences ive ever had! The ride was very bumpy, the engine light and some other light I did not recoginize came on shortly after I started the drive, and almost none of the buttons or gears for wipers, lights, etc., were clearly marked! The service attendant at the station should quickly pointed these out to me and check to see that the truck was in good working order!

Kurt SI was very unimpressed with my experience at this location. I normally use the U-Haul facility on Oakland Street in Manchester, CT, and have always had a positive experience there. This time I decided to try the Citgo in Tolland since it was closer, but I regretted the decision. I had to wait about 30 minutes before even receiving the keys because only one person was working. When I finally got the keys and went to the truck, I realized they were for the wrong vehicle. I had to go back inside, wait again, and then wait longer while the employee switched the trucks around and moved the equipment. My reservation was for 8:00am, but I didn’t actually leave until almost 9:00am. Once I was on the road, I noticed a giant crack in the windshield, and the alignment was so far off that the truck felt unsafe to drive. I didn’t have time to return and wait for yet another truck, so I had to make do. On top of that, the back of the truck was filthy; it looked like it had never been cleaned. To be clear, this isn’t a complaint against the gentleman working. He seemed to be doing his best, but he was alone, clearly without enough support or training. The real issue is the poor condition and lack of maintenance of the trucks at this location. I will not be returning to the Tolland Citgo for rentals and will continue going to the U-Haul facility in Manchester, where the trucks are properly maintained and the service is reliable.
