Comment U-Haul Fonctionnement des avisFORMAL DISPUTE OF UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES AND ALLEGATION OF UNRETURNED EQUIPMENT November 2, 2026 Subject: Formal Dispute – Alleged Unreturned Dolly and Additional Charges To U-Haul Management: I am writing to formally dispute the allegation that I failed to return a dolly associated with my recent truck rental, as well as the additional charges that have subsequently been applied to my account. I recently relocated right down the road from your U-Haul location and have rented trucks from this facility three times within approximately six weeks. I have been a returning customer and have had no previous issues with my rentals. Regarding this particular rental, one of your employees, Dave, voluntarily provided me with a small dolly that was not U-Haul equipment. He placed it inside the truck in the event I needed it. I subsequently purchased an armoire, for which three individuals assisted me with moving. However, I never removed or used the dolly provided by Dave. The neighbor of the property where the armoire was purchased had a substantially larger dolly, which was used instead. The facts surrounding the return are straightforward: 1. The rental truck was returned to the exact same U-Haul location from which it was rented. 2. The truck was returned at approximately **1:17 p.m.**, within the three-hour rental period. 3. The dolly provided by Dave remained inside the truck throughout the entire rental. It was never removed or used. 4. I traveled approximately 13 miles and put two gallons of gasoline into the truck before returning it. 5. I have receipts and photographs documenting the transaction and return. 6) ALL MY TELEPHONE CALLS ARE RECORDED BY CUBE ACR (Both phone calls that I received by the owner & the employee Dave. Despite these facts, on Monday, November 2, 2026, I received a telephone call accusing me of taking a dolly and failing to return it. I was also informed of additional charges that effectively doubled the cost of my rental. I find this accusation both troubling and unacceptable. I did not take the dolly, nor did I fail to return it. The equipment remained inside the rental truck when it was returned to your facility. I am formally disputing these charges and requesting the following: - Immediate suspension and reversal of any additional charges associated with the alleged missing dolly. - A review of the rental return records, including any available surveillance footage from the location. - Verification of the equipment inventory and the circumstances surrounding the dolly Dave placed inside the truck. - Written documentation identifying the specific equipment allegedly missing, including its description and any applicable identification or inventory number. - An explanation of the basis for charging me for equipment that I maintain was returned with the vehicle. I have retained my receipts and photographs and am prepared to provide copies to substantiate my account of this transaction. I expect this matter to be investigated objectively and resolved promptly. I should not be financially penalized or treated as though I have taken company property when the facts and available documentation support otherwise. Please consider this letter formal notice that I dispute both the allegation and the resulting charges. I request that all further communication regarding this matter be provided in writing so there is a clear record of the dispute and its resolution.
