The app on my phone worked perfectly this time. The last 2 times I have used the app it did not function properly. There were still issues when it asked if the vehicle was clean. I said no and tried to take a picture. The app would not allow. The truck floors, doors, steering wheel and dash board were dirty and not clean.Stephen J.

I've used U-haul at least 6 times over the past 10-12 years and this was by far the WORST experience I've ever had! I had to cancel 2 other reservations with them before I got this one that I actually used, but only because I absolutely had to. If I had ANY other choice I would not have used them. You need to have jacks available to help get trailers onto hitches. My hitch is somewhat high and it was difficult without a jack to lift up the tongue of the trailer.Craig T.

Needed to return equipment behind the store/strip mall front and the directions were not clear. Unable to use the U-Haul app or website on my Samsung Android phone to return the trailer (had this issue on other rentals). Had to go back with my Apple Ipad connected to my Android phone to get the App return to be accepted. U-haul appears to need to make sure their App / Website to work on an Android.Scott S.

I rented out a U-Haul from Elgin Illinois and from the start the man I was dealing with was extremely rude and extremely bossy! We were greeted with â€œwhat do you needâ€ no hello. Nothing. When we got there he very quickly went through the whole process of walking around the truck and then told us to just go through the back and do a checklist on my own. He wasn't there to walk me through the process or for me to show him any previous damage that was done to the truck. When I try to explain this to him he just said take pictures for your own proof. Then he charged me an extra $25 because he claims that the back was not swept when I did sweep the back. The whole process of moving is stressful as it is to have someone rude to deal with and charge you unnecessary feesMakes it even worse! Stay away from this guy and stay away from U-Haul if you can they charge you for every little thing that they don't even tell you aboutMauro S.

The location was difficult to find, accessing the equipment required driving through enormous potholes and the employee at the counter was extremely rude, he had me in tears. This was the only location that had the equipment I needed on the day I needed and he told me if I refuse to provide an alternate person's name and phone number he refused to rent to me and threw my License and Credit card at me. The other customers were standing there as he berated me for not having an additional person to add to the rental, I've never had to do that. I was renting trailer not a truck and I've had my Uhaul account for over 10 years. I always check in online, provide front and back of my license and always reserve my equipment through uhaul.com. I will never return to this location. He also charged me for insurance that I opted out of, he charged it when I returned the trailer. So my official charge ended up having the insurance added in. I'm humiliated and furious. This older man was horrible to me. I had my kids with me as well. He didn't know why I was moving or why I wasn't able to provide a person. I told him he didn't know my circumstances but had he known it was because I am alone. No family here and trying to move my kids to a safe place, I still don't think his attitude would've been different.Sadia N.

The online service was very sluggish. In addition, because we arrived 1 hour later than our set pickup time it would not let us proceed. I would suggest that the system sends a note to the customer saying that they need to modify the pick up time before the can continue the pickup process.JOHN W.

Informing the customer the procedure for returning the vehicle. I was not informed of the return procedure, so I left after dropping off the truck. We went home and I tried to finish my rental because I had not brought my password with me, This omission of procedure on the part U-Haul required me to return to the rental agency to complete my rental. This can be avoided in the future if U-Haul would include detailed information on your procedure for return of your rentals. Also I had already taken pictures of the truck when I dropped it off for my own record, but could not upload them on your app, I had to take new pictures instead. Over all I believe you can streamline your rental process for a better user experience, remember most customers are not renting on a regular basis, added instructions would help streamline the return process. Maybe it would be as simple as a text with the return link sent at the time of rental. The customer would only have to open the link an finish the rental agreement.Richard K.
