I was bothered that U-Haul announces that they are an essential service provider but they do not extend, like almost every other company, a first responder discount, and in fact increased my rate because I canceled then tried to reopen my reservation a day later. The purpose of this rental was due to a family death and there was no compassion what so ever, just greedy and charged me $45 more than originally agreed. When asked about this I was bounced around to different reps who each gave me a different response. The trailer I rented worked as expected.
The three male employees refused to help me unhook the 4x8 cargo trailer. I was alone, a 71 year old female, and was forced to totally unhook the trailer and lift the tongue off the hitch, by myself! It was very heavy, and none of the guys was busy when I checked the trailer in! They said they were actually Chevron employees, though the sign read â€œ Authorized uhaul dealerâ€.
Another problem I had was I tried to return the unit on Saturday, but they were closed. Their wedsite said they should have been open. The next day they should have been open but they were closed. We were unable to return it by using the online app. so we called UHAUL. That person sent us to a different location that was open. He was a great help. UHAUL charged me for an extra day. I feel it was not my fault for not returning it on time. We made every effort, but the dealer was closed and your online app. didn't work. The place I rated was were I finally drop the unit off.
The truck I ordered was not available. I called days in advance to confirm that a 10' truck would be available. Instead, I was given a 15' truck. Everyone was really nice, but it is still frustrating that I called ahead to confirm and yet my order was still screwed up.

The manager (or so he claimed to be at one point) was extremely rude and disrespectful. When I got there he questioned why they sent me to â€œhis locationâ€. When I asked for help with my car on the trailer he said he was not paid to help me so he wouldn't (which he stuck to and did not help at all). He stood there and vaped while I did it all with a broken foot. He was also rude and disrespectful to my grandfather who had to drive to this location to help me since the man would not help in any way. This was the WORST experience I've ever had at any place, not just including uhaul. I will tell everyone that asks to avoid this location.
This was the WORST experience i have ever had. I was told that they would help me at this uhaul location with dropping off and unloading/detaching the trailer which the man would not do. He stood there and vaped the whole time and was extremely rude to my grandpa and I. Even asked why we came to his location. When I asked for help with detaching the chain from my car he said he â€œwas not paid to touch a thing, therefore he would notâ€. He wouldn't even help me back in the trailer where I was supposed to park it for him. He also told my grandpa he was the manager. I cant believe how terrible this experience was and I have NEVER encountered someone so blatantly rude. So disappointed.
Had to wait on customer in front of me who had not pre-registered even though I had done everything on line ahead of time. Agent offered me NO help in hooking up trailer. I had to go to the yard and do it myself. Provide service to your customers.
Trailer hadn't been cleaned. Only one person in store handling both customers and uhaul customers. No help homing up.
The only issue I had was that the truck was reserved for 8:00 am. I confirmed my reservation the day before as requested, confirming the date and time. However, when I went to pick up the truck, the facility did not open until 9:00 am. You shouldn't be able to reserve a truck at a pickup time when the facility isn't even open. Most importantly, you should at least be told that you can't pick up the truck at the hour you reserved if the facility isn't open when you call to confirm!

My problems with this location didn't start with them but with the U-Haul computer system. For some reason our rental was not "in the system" and they would not accept the drop off at first because "it was not in the system" for the trailer to be dropped off at their place and the boss refused to help straighten it out with the people at the other end of the 800 number phone call. He made it my problem to contact even when I told him that we had contacted the 800 number and the people at your end acted as if there was no reason to call the 800 number. Another call to the 800 number finally straightened it out and the two employees of the nasty boss were very polite and helpful. I'm not sure how to prevent a problem like this in the future. Somewhere there was a failure to communicate in the rental/dropoff system.
Everything went well we had no issues
They told me I could not return it to there lot, which is the lot I picked it up the day before and had a signed contrct to return it to. They would do nothing until I made them call corpoate office and finnaly talk to a supervisor. They wanted me to take it to a store 30 miles away. Need to talk to them about customer service. Will not recommend U-Haul again.
Gas was not full like check in clerk said it was. Check out clerk did not certify. I returned vehicle just about where previous gas was when picked up. I was then charged an extra $43 on top of original checkout price. Very unsatisfied and felt taken advantage of
Dont expect customer to load the equipment themselves. The agent should have done this
