The person that checked me in was new, so someone was assisting him with mu check in. Just a small change would be more personal. He never told me his name he just told me where it was located on my U-haul contract and hi-lighted it.

We rented a van for a very short trip to and from our new home in North Carolina. Service was excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Truck was dirty and smelled of cigarettes back of truck was stained from mud and not swept was also a roach crawling around in the back along with what appeared to be broken woman's nails everywhere the fuel reading they gave me was inaccurate 10/10 the worst rental I've had from uhaul but the location and staff was excellent

Reservations are great, always available vehicles. Most of the time on short notice a vehicle may not be available but never waited more than one day. I would recommend to keep a minimum of at least half tank (or more) of gas on return ; this will help customers save valuable time in having to tank up before a move. Reward customers who fill tank completely, with discount or token supplies from u-haul store...just a thought

I WILL RETURN TO THE STORE THIS MORNING AFTER BEING OVER CHARGES $51.00 ON MY CREDIT CARD AND THEN RETURNING TO STORE LAST NIGHT AND WAITING OVER A HOUR TO FIND OUR THAT THE PERSON IN CHARGE JUST COULD GIVE ME $50.00 DUE TO THAT BEING HER LIMIT SO I SAID THAT WOULD BE OK IF I COULD GET A RECRIPT SHOWING THAT WAS CTEDITED BACK TO MY CARD. AFTER 15 TO 20 MORE MINITES OF WATCHING HER PUNCH ON THE KEYBOARD I ASK HER WHAT WAS TAKING SO LONG AND SHE SAID THAT I COULD COME AROUND AND LOOK AT THE SCREEN THAT SHE HAD TO TYPE IN THE DETAILS ON WHY SHE WAS REQUESTING TO GIVE ME THE $50.00 AND GET APPROVEL AND THAT IT WOULD TAKE UP TO 10 DAYS FOR ME TO GET CREDIT IF APPROVED AND THAT SHE COULDN'T GIVE ME ANY KIND OF RECRIPT SHOWING THAT I WOULD RECEIVE CREDIT TO MY CARD. I UNDERSTAND THAT HELP IS HARD TO FIND AND AT THIS TIME BUSINESS IS GREAT BUT TIMES WILL CHANGE BACK DOWN THE ROAD THAT CUSTOMERS ARE IMPORTANT AND NEEDED TO KEEP DOORS OPEN. AS I SAID IN STARTING I WILL WASTE ANOTHER HOUR AND A HALF THIS MORNING GOING BACK IN THE STORE TO GET THE MONEY BUT AT SOME POINT THE MONEY ISN'T AS IMPORTANT AS MY TIME. LOOK LUCK KEEPING YOUR DOORS OPEN DOWN THE ROAD IN YEARS TO COME AFTER THE WOULD GETS BACK TO NORMAL AS WE CAN.

Customer Service. It's all about Customer Service. I think sometimes folks forget that without the customer the business does not exist. Communication And a caring attitude our number one priorities in my business. Even if the customer is wrong we certainly would not escalate the situation. We would never tell a customer that they are lying. Quite frankly my experience at the Kingsport location was horrendous. The fuel on the truck was less than was indicated. I went back into the service counter to inquire about this and was told that I was lying, that the truck had a full tank of fuel. This was simply not the case. The customer service person escalated the situation with a short and non-professional attitude. The underlying issue here is that with the colonial pipeline shut down, it was important that I have at least enough fuel in the truck to get to a location where I could purchase more. I was met with absolute indifference to say the least, at the counter.

Unless you enjoy being misled and then scammed out of your hard earned money, I would highly recommend going to a different location for your rental needs. I went in to rent a Cargo Van for two days. The cargo van is advertised as costing $19.95 per day. U-haul obviously also charges for the mileage. If you are a sane person you would ballpark the total cost for renting a van for two days around $100.00, depending on your mileage. I was charged $160.00 before I had the key in my hand. I thought that was a little pricey, but I understood completely that it wasn't going to be exactly 19.95 per day. I'm not that naive. Well, it turns out that I was charged $160.00 for ONE day instead of two, like I had spoken with the employee about. I needed it for the full day of Friday and all through Saturday. I even said explicitly that I would be returning it after hours on Saturday. The boy that rang me up understood exactly what I was explaining to him. So I get a call from U-haul on Saturday in the afternoon saying that I was supposed to have the van returned by 11:45 A. M. On Saturday. I let the lady that I was speaking with know that I actually paid in full to have the van through Saturday. She said “No, you paid $160 for one day, so we are charging you for this additional day.” They had already charged my bank $70.00 without saying anything to me about it first. When I tried to have a conversation about the pricing, the woman on the phone told me the manager was on vacation and couldn't help me. Then she put me on hold and I ended up speaking with another woman. I tried to explain to her that it was not right to charge me extra money because of a mistake that their employee had made. I also explained that it especially did not seem right because I had already paid much more than I was anticipating to pay for just a little van. She basically told me that everything I had said does not matter and that I needed to pay. When I did return the van after hours on Saturday, (like we both already agreed to at the beginning.) I went through an online portal. I took my photos of the odometer and displayed the condition of the van. When I was done with that, I clicked “complete return” and it brought me to a page requiring an ADDITIONAL $218.00 payment. So, altogether, that's $160 originally, $70 charge for a day that I thought I had already paid for, and then $218.00 for what reason? Your guess is as good as mine. GRAND TOTAL: $448.00 to rent a little van for two days and travel a total of 160 miles. That is a FAR CRY from “✨only 19.95!!✨”

We drove an hour to make it to Kingsport before they closed while along the way constantly calling uhaul to let them know we were on our way....we were on hold the entire time. Thankfully, we made it 5 minutes before they closed to be greeted with "we close at 7." If this branch let alone the call center would have picked up the phone they would have known the difficulty we were having. The truck was dirty and had trash in it. The gas cap cover did not close, the bumper was damaged, and other misc damages. Upon returning the truck. I sat under the canopy in the truck for about 15 minutes when I decided to go inside. I stood in line while one employee went outside and the other behind the desk told me I had to go back and sit in truck. While waiting I threw the trash away that was left by previous renters and ended up going to the employee outside to let her know we had an appointment that we needed to make, which she replied well if you see we are busy and then let me leave.

We rented a truck for a move this weekend. When my husband went to the uhaul store, he told them that the truck would be returned sometime on Saturday, probably late afternoon. They called us at 11am wanting to know why we had not returned the truck yet Because someone else was at the store waiting on it. We were told we needed to get the truck back to the store as quickly as possible and was still charged for the entire day of the use of the truck. Their “double booking” of that truck inconvenienced 2 families and we paid for use that we didn't even get.

Equipment was clean. String is very loose. A/c blower very noisy. Employee encountered were great. The equipment does not feel safe to drive and if I had been going any distance I would have retorne and asked for a different truck

Return check in after hours is never quick. Uhaul site kept locking up. It took 20 minutes to check out! Way to long.

I originally rented a 10 ft truck 2 days (29.95x2) 59.90 + a dolly (10.x.2) 20.00. The original bill was $111.15 No one helped load the heavy dolly (I'm 77) and no one showed how to lock and unlock the door. I thought I had it locked but the door came up and the dolly rolled out and it was picked up by somebody - I know I had to pay $150 to replace it. I ended up only using the truck 1 day (29.95) + $7.00 dolly fee My final bill was 253.57. Take $150 for the dolly I ended up paying $103.57 for 1 one day rental!?? Something doesn't sound right. I know some gas was involved - I only drove it 15 miles + taxes added I feel like I was double charged for the gas and was not given credit ($20.00) for the dolly rental - I had to pay $150 for it .
