The male at the U-Haul window simply typed in my reservation (for the truck) information and then handed me the keys. This was my first experience EVER driving a U-Haul truck. Upon getting into the driver's seat to familiarize myself with the controls, it was obvious that I needed some assistance. So I re-entered the office to get that help; THE MALE REFUSED MY REQUEST! Instead, he told me that driving the truck was just like driving any vehicle. He would NOT come out to the truck to assist me with locating/ determining all that I needed to know to have a safe driving experience. So "NO", I shall not recommend this U-Haul location to anyone!PAMELA H.

First of all, I made a reservation to pick up my truck in East Orange a month ago, yet at 4:30 on Friday May 21 (the day before pick up), I receive a call saying I need to pick up in Newark. Newark was about 20 more minutes out of the way (on a very stressful day as is). U-haul, which prides itself on making moving easier, made my day much worse! As I said on the phone on Friday, I believe it's unacceptable that the burden of whatever mix-up that happened should fall on the customer. I made a reservation a month ago to pick up at a certain location, it is Uhaul's responsibility to make sure a truck is available. It should not be my problem that uhaul messed up. And even worse, the manger that called me was getting argumentative with me, when I raised these concerns. Once again, Uhaul messed up and the burden of that fell on me. Horrible. Then, once I got to B&C there was only one person in front of me on line, yet I had to wait another 15-20 minutes! The customer service was awful. Finally, because I had noticed that Newark was further away, I asked if I was going to be charged for the extra miles. The manager on the phone told me I would not. Well, last night I received an additional bill for $5 for the additional 13 miles I accrued ! I can confidently say I will never use Uhaul again because of this. This was a horrible experience, and this company clearly does not know how to treat customers (who are already likely stressed about moving) with care and respect. Terrible. I will be sure to tell everyone I know about this.LEVI K.

I will never rent from Uhaul again. I flew to NJ with a reservation for a 1 way 26' truck. Arrived in Newark and had a Cancellation email.. called... she rebooked the reservation for a 3:30 pickup the next day instead of my original 8am pickup.. get to the location and the truck is not there... even though that is the location on my email confirmation... he changes my pickup to 4:30 but a 1/2 hour away (in rushhour traffic) . We get the truck and finally pulled out of NJ at 8pm!!! Needless to say it put a big damper on things since we had to be back in MO. Did I mention that I also PREPAID the entire amount when I booked it and they STILL CANCELLED IT!!! I did get a credit but so unprofessional. You also can't talk to the location-- everytime I called I would get the main reservation line and then get transferred multiple times. There are so many other Truck companies --- will definitely use a different one next time.Trina H.

The location is down a very long industrial road. Lots and lots of deep pot holes, unmarked speed bumps, and when I parked the van a guy came out and yelled at me like I was a complete idiot because it was in the wrong place. Nor was there any indication of a correct place! Not a pleasant experience at all.Graeme M.

I was cat called by a man on the speaker there. I was spoken to with disrespect and rude comments. I will be calling the owned of the company to complain. I was spoken to like I'm a piece of trash over a loud speaker!! I would like to file a complaint. I don't think this place is a good place to represent UHaul! I would rethink using them. The people at the front desk are a bunch of dicks!!! They think that because they work for a police impound and they probably have a bunch of cop friends, that they can speak and do whatever they want. Bunch of assholes that need to talk that shit in your face, not behind no glass! Pussies in that spot. Please don't remove this review. I NEVER EVER give a negative review,I'd much rather be going to a local gym and and box for a few rounds without getting arrested. I promise you, them soft ass mofos in that spot will definitely be more professional!!! Thank God for cameras all over the damn place!!! Hmmmmm.RAYMOND P.
