Hi, Kevin! Yes, all of our moving boxes require tape for assembly except for the EZ Wardrobe Box. We offer a variety of tape that will work for our moving boxes, but I recommend our Box / Packaging Paper Tape. Each 55 yard roll assembles at least 6-10 boxes. You should only need one strip to seal the bottom of the box and one strip to seal the top of the box, but if the box is going to be filled heavy, I recommend using extra tape to secure the box. If you have your receipt, you can take them to any U-Haul Center for a full refund to your original method of purchase.

If you don't have your receipt, but still have the card which was used for the original purchase, then a U-Haul Center should be able to look up the receipt for your original purchase and get you refunded.

I saved some boxes from a previous move that were home depot's 12*12*16" boxes. Are your boxes and their boxes the same size and an industry standard and they are just rounding down? If I'm stacking a lot of boxes and using space efficiently it helps if they are the same sizes.
Our Small Moving Box is just slightly larger than the Home Depot boxes you bought, so if you stack them on the bottom you should be just fine!
Unfortunately, there is no industry standard for cardboard boxes so everywhere you buy is going to have slightly different dimensions. That being said, our boxes are the strongest and still cost less than the competition.

ECT stands for Edge Crush Test. The Edge Crush Test is a standard measurement tool used to test the strength of corrugated boxes by measuring how resistant they are to being crushed at their edges.
Knowing the gross weight a particular box will hold gives a basic idea of strong it may be, but ECT gives a much more detailed understanding. You often times won't see any of our competitors advertising the ECT of their boxes because they simply don't compare to ours!

Hi, Kevin! Yes, all of our moving boxes require tape for assembly except for the EZ Wardrobe Box. We offer a variety of tape that will work for our moving boxes, but I recommend our Box / Packaging Paper Tape. Each 55 yard roll assembles at least 6-10 boxes. You should only need one strip to seal the bottom of the box and one strip to seal the top of the box, but if the box is going to be filled heavy, I recommend using extra tape to secure the box. If you have your receipt, you can take them to any U-Haul Center for a full refund to your original method of purchase.

If you don't have your receipt, but still have the card which was used for the original purchase, then a U-Haul Center should be able to look up the receipt for your original purchase and get you refunded.

I saved some boxes from a previous move that were home depot's 12*12*16" boxes. Are your boxes and their boxes the same size and an industry standard and they are just rounding down? If I'm stacking a lot of boxes and using space efficiently it helps if they are the same sizes.
Our Small Moving Box is just slightly larger than the Home Depot boxes you bought, so if you stack them on the bottom you should be just fine!
Unfortunately, there is no industry standard for cardboard boxes so everywhere you buy is going to have slightly different dimensions. That being said, our boxes are the strongest and still cost less than the competition.

ECT stands for Edge Crush Test. The Edge Crush Test is a standard measurement tool used to test the strength of corrugated boxes by measuring how resistant they are to being crushed at their edges.
Knowing the gross weight a particular box will hold gives a basic idea of strong it may be, but ECT gives a much more detailed understanding. You often times won't see any of our competitors advertising the ECT of their boxes because they simply don't compare to ours!
