Tyrone S. | Overall ExperienceRenting at this location was by far the worse experience we Have EVER experienced as customers. My wife held a conversation via phone on/around December 26th regarding the poor customer service she received from Store Manager Dana Wright and his wife. She experienced and reported disability-based discrimination. Dana is still causing us significant trouble, and hardship! He continued to provide very poor customer service. On 1/15 we paid our bill and asked for our replacement key. Unfortunately, Dana and his Wife both continue to treat us very poorly. On Saturday he refused to acknowledge my wife's presence, even after looking her directly in the eye after she entered the building. After she stood for appx 5 minutes, explaining why she was there. Dana remained texting on his cell phone and looking back and forth between his phone and computer; intentionally ignoring her, and failing to greet her as a customer. When he finally acknowledged her presence, he was exceedingly impolite and treated her differently than the other customers who had entered after her. She reiterated that she was there to pay our bill and collect the replacement key for our storage unit. He then searched numerous locations for our storage key. He then rudely asked, "what card are you paying with"? She informed him we would use the same card on file. He then proceeded to search for the key. After he was unable to locate the key, he stated, "Oh, I forgot, I can't find your key because my manager instructed me to mail it to you because you did not pick it up on the day you said you would return." she then stated: "Dana I called your office & spoke with your wife to inform her that we were unable to return after Christmas due to family obligations. She also informed his wife that we had an emergency and needed to leave before Uhaul opened the following day. She told him that we informed his wife that we would pick up the replacement key from the office upon return. We requested she makes a note of our account so that we would not encounter any issues when we returned to Texas and picked up the new key. His wife confirmed our comments and stated that she recorded our account. In addition, she stated that she and her husband (Dana) would hold the key and give it to us upon our return from La. We informed Dana, that if we couldn't get the storage opened that night or by 7 a.m. the following morning, the items in the storage may not be retrievable before we left for La. As a result, this is the reason why we deemed it imperative to have the lock removed the night it was requested. Dana then replies in an impolite manner, "Well, I mailed you your key; you should go home and search for it." My wife asked him multiple times when we're the keys mailed, and he rudely said on the ninth. She informed him that if the key had been mailed on the 9th, we should have received it by now; but, we have not received it Amid their conversation, Dana abruptly stands up as if irritated, walks to the back, and begins speaking with his wife. He did not return until approximately 20 minutes later. She was left in the lobby with no explanation. He Just abandoned her there. Dana then returns via the front door, tosses the keys on the desk, and announces, "I changed your lock once more, and this is your new key, goodbye. She informed him that throwing the key on the desk was EXTREMELY impolite. She informed him once more that she had spoken with his wife, informing her that we would be unable to return the following morning and that she not be treated in such a manner if his wife failed to deliver our message to him. My wife inquired as to whether all of the cameras were operational, including the camera at the front desk that was recording their conversation, dana throwing the keys at her, and his horrible customer service. Dana then stated, "Yes, the cameras are operational, but I doubt you'll be able to see where I threw your keys". My wife reported to Dana's supervisor, she was offended, ashamed, and dissatisfied with Uhaul's bad customer service on TWO recent occasions and request he gives us a call. His supervisors still refuse. We have never before been treated in this manner by a business or a person in a position of authority. We believe that Dana and his wife were conspiring to deliberately damage our account, and correspondence, and intentionally mistreat Us. We went out of our way to be kind and empathetic, yet he and his wife insisted on purposefully causing us stress for no reason. It's not right! We requested the owner/senior leader's contact information so that the film and camera recordings may be retrieved to establish that we were treated unfairly and discriminated against as loyal Uhaul customers. We've filed a formal complaint and have requested on multiple occasions for a superior to contact us. The supervisor stated he was busy. We still have not received a returned call from Dana and his wife's supervisor leading us to believe this is okay.
