Really need to do something about the rat issue. I lost some belongings due to damage from rats.

ra C. | First ImpressionsThe few times I was there the, young adult guy in the place was not what I call a customer service friendly attendant. My first visit, I told him I talked to a lady on the phone to set my reservation, that I had never been here before. He asked if I was at the right place (but with a rude tone) told him I got the address from the lady's email. He ask if I knew what lot I had. My answer was no, with a load of sarcasm he said they didn't tell you, like I was lying about it! Why would I a new customer be lying. Then he said okay I guess I have to look you up in the system. He asked for my last name and then tells me a lot number and turns away from me to go about his day. I said excuse me I have never been here before can you tell me or show me where that is? He replied drive straight back, they are marked on the wall. That was the extent of my interaction with him , which was fine by me he was not much help and seems very upset to be doing his job. So we drive back and apparently you had your walls Recently painted and the painters painted right over the numbers and they are not readable. So either the person at the counter knew and didn't care, or never leaves the office, or he was new without a trainer (not likely he knew the computer systems) So I just left the office a minute ago or less and drive to the back lot. I call the office phone to tell him there's no visible numbers, and he doesn't answer after what seems like five or six rings the call routes to the main 800 number. Apparently he forward the office phone so he didn't have to be bothered. By the time uhaul answered my wife after walking through weeds and high grass to the back wall found the lot we were assigned. It wasn't going to work. The grass had not been trimmed and the lots on either side were crowding the lot. I was not getting a boat in that spot. The person on the 800# was helpful and called the GM on their cell phone and we got it resolved. I came by again before hurricane Ian and tarped and secured my boat. No one was in the office in the middle of the day, maybe they were home making their preparations. Next time I came after the hurricane again no one in the office. Went to check on the boat, and decided my 92,7 was better spent in my driveway. So I brought the boat home. Came by the office on the 17th and no one to help me again. So I emailed the GM to let them know I wanted to terminate my contract. As many lots as you have and storage boxes there, you have to many people with a code to the gate for it to be secured without an attendant, especially one that won't answer a phone or stay at the counter. It would take an hour max for someone with a weed wackier to clear the back wall and empty areas so people could get to an assigned spot. If you are afraid of throwing a rock, slow the weed wicker down and put a lighter string on it so it would break instead of flinging a rock. Or spray weed killer and misquote spray so people are not eaten alive there. Simple things that an attendant can do, easy to have them forward the office phone to a cell phone and put them on a golf cart to show people their lot or storage area. In the end the decision to move-out was based on lackluster costumer service, and ability to get to the boat without tramping through mud, grass and mosquitoes. Also, not impressed with a lack of reply to the email I sent to the GM about my move out. Very upset by the fact they took another payment, like I wasn't going to notice. Like I had not cancelled.

Nadine E. | First ImpressionsI arranged and paid for my reservation over the phone, Amy was great to talk to and set things up. There are however at least one or two other uhuals in the area of NewYork and 19 and I ended up at the wrong one. I called your facility while I was still at the wrong location. The gentleman answered wouldnt confirm I was calling the right place. Finally I asked do you have an associate by the name of Amy, yes we do...Okay I am on my way. When I got to the correct facility. the guy at the counter was less than helpful, again. I told him who I was, that I had just talked to him one the phone, and I had arranged everythign prior to my arrival with Amy on the phone, that I had never been here berfore. I asked him which spot is mine, he's like you dont know your spot, I replied no we arranged this on the phone. looks me up in the computer by name and says they assigned you lot 16. I replied okay where is that? He says you dont where your lot is? I was thinking to myself he has not been listening to a thing I said. 1. I went to the wrong place to start with, if I had been there before I wouldnt have gone to the wrong place. 2. I told you it was all set up over the phone, 3 I told you I had never been here before. I asked him were lot 16 was, he stated straight back the numbers are paintred on the wall. Okay. So we haul the 25ft boat back and while I applaud you painting and updating the brick wall back there someone painted right over the numbers that are supose to be visible, they are not visible. Well we found lot 16 after my wife walked through high grass and insects to get within inches of the signs to read them. Lot 16 was not going to work for my boat. Its at least a quarter mile walk back to the office, so I tried to call the office phone. No answer, mind you I left the office less than 5min ago. The national office picks up the line. I told him my issue, he puts me on hold to call his number for the office, still no answer. I told him theres an opening at lot 45 I can back in there and come back tomorrow if its an issue. He said he would call the GM of the site, who thankfully answered their phone. The GM agreed and the 25ft boat now is at lot 45. I would suggesst some customer service initiatives with the employee that was at the desk. First off answer the phone! Second active listening isn't a fad term it is real. When we pulled out his car was still parked in front of the office and he was inside. I have no clue why he couldn't answer the phone for me or the national office, especially when he knows there are customers on the lot that may have questions. In the end we got a good spot and seems like we will be good there. I like the high concrete walls. I took a look at the camera arrays displayed on the tv screen when we walked in and was happy with the picture quality. I know there are workforce issues and the job probably doesn't pay much over min wage, so the effort by the gentleman maybe minimal as well. That said the GM was responsive and accomidating to our needs and for that I am appreciative.
Jacob C. | First ImpressionsI had a unit 118 I went to my storage unit to get some things out and there were maggots and a rat next to my expensive items I was storing so they moved me two doors down this ceilings are falling down and all of the units. So no I don't have a good review at all

The facility itself must have changed hands over the last 18 months (Approximately) and has gone down hill. It is filthy! The amount of dirt and dust that gets into the storage areas is unreal. Your stored items will be filthy! The management does not care and basically walks away when you bring it up. Homeless individuals are actually living out of storage bins! Again, management does not care.
Maria H. | Overall ExperienceI had one unit number 19 I went in day before yesterday to get a few things out there was a decomposing rat with maggots all inside of my storage the roof was caving in and they happen to have number one 20 which is two doors down so I have to go through everything I had to throw away all of my clothes because I had rat urine and feces on it not very pleased about this at all I'm trying to be very nice about it actually so anyway I had to relocate my unit to #120 ... Also my unit number 118 was paid up till the 20th of this month... Because I switched units they said my payments will be on the 13th...not right... I do not agree with this... I have been a pryer customer off and on.. I have never ever felt so cheated and disgraced I know it's poor matainace.... Leaking roofs... unreal 濫
Kathryn N. | Overall ExperienceI had unit 118 I went in yesterday to get a few things there was rats maggots all over the place I actually had to take everything out of storage put it in a storage number 120 which luckily was right next door then they try to charge me for 10/13.. my unit was paid up till the 20th so then I called the manager and he said that I will get a free month we shall see I'm not happy thank you

My moving company refused to move my stuff and we had to leave it behind in Florida. The manager would never return my calls and kept trying to put a lean on my stuff. NIGHTMARE. AVOID.
