We rented two uhauls in two weeks from two different locations in Toronto- one on Greenwood and one on Livingstone. The attendants at both locations were exceptionally nice and helpful. After each rental we received a notification that we had not returned the truck or answered calls from uhaul. We did not appreciate the accusations, both of which were false. Both trucks were returned on time. Both times I had to waste my time calling uhaul to correct the error. The second time when I called after the Greenwood rental, the woman assured me that it wouldn't happen again (which of course was a promise she couldn't control). I asked her to notify someone about the problem as it appears to be a software issue or some other glitch in your systems. It did not leave us with a positive impression of your business.

This review is not necessarily related to this specific location. The vehicle I reserved was unavailable because it had not been returned. As a result I had to triage the issue myself via u haul customer service department finally getting an alternate reservation at another location. Frustrating experience overall and not once was offered any sort of discount or compensation for the inconvenience. This cost me several hours of time on an extremely busy day that I could not afford delays.
William DArranged to rent a dolly but the one they had was broken. They offered it free of charge, so we took it, thinking it might work. However, it turned out to be useless with one broken wheel. Thankfully the place we moved into had one they let us use. If this hadn't been the case, we would have had a lot of difficulty moving (from where we could park the truck to the apartment was a total of about 100m distance - hard to carry furniture that far).

Cathryn SYour app is broken which made mobile pickup incredibly difficult (it wouldn't let me sign in, and has a 2 star rating on Google Play with very negative reviews so I assume the problem exists for a lot of people). The notification/button to begin the mobile process of picking up the van on a browser didn't show up until 20 minutes after my pickup time. When I called for assistance the first time, the man on the phone simply said "This is not an issue I can help you with." and then hung up. When I finally reached someone the second time they were very patient and helpful, but the pickup process absolutely requires their assistance as the browser kept kicking me out of the steps and I had to restart. It took 55 minutes to pick up the van. The second rental required an additional driver. I added him to my account, but the location said he was unable to pick it up because the original credit card name didn't match the original license. As a trans person working to change over all of my IDs (which is an arduous process in and of itself) I found this very upsetting. We ended up switching to a secondary location for mobile pickup, which did not give us any issue (other than the browser still being difficult to work with). A truly heinous experience, and I won't be renting with you again.
