Apparently UHaul is rolling out a new rental program where you rent a truck without ever talking to the local staff, and have increased their telephone support because of it. Even though when I called to extend my rental for 24 hours I was transferred twice, the phone person was polite, knowledgable and fast. Still, I don't see how talking to a remote support person could be as helpful (or safe) as being face to face with the excellent local staff. I have a feeling that any human support is temporary, soon to replaced by computer generated logical answers to predicted scenarios.

Marlon and James were completely helpful and kind. They assisted me when the equipment I had reserved was not available and found me a different trailer that would suffice, as expediently as possible so that I could haul my work equipment to my site.

Everything about my dropoff experience was unacceptable. I was first told I had to drop off 20 miles away instead of my local center so my wife had to take the morning off work. Second I was sent to a tiny little tire store to drop off where I was accused of damaging the truck. Lastly he sent me less than 1/2 mi. away to a REAL uhaul center where my return was not questioned. My time was wasted, I was insulted, there was a real additional cost having to have my wife follow me to the center (instead of just simply riding my bike home!). There was nothing acceptable about the experience.

The truck had engine problems and was out of alignment so it went down the road sideways. The drop off location was fine but I only had an address but no name of the location on the contract. Could have been easier to find I knew the name of the place I was looking for

Great service. Truck was a pleasure to drive. Returned the truck in Detroit and they where great to work with. Call a cab for us. Would highly recommend U-haul. Fantastic company

When we originally booked the woman totally messed up our booking so we had to drive 40 extra miles for pick up. Customer service was awful- we were told "well when you make a reservation things change" by some rude sounding 16yr old. Well guess what, when you make a reservation it's just that- a reservation of the time, date & location. Never had such a poor experience with uhaul as this. Next time we'll be using Penske.

Well I had a bad experience. The uhaul on William's hwy in Grant's pass couldn't help me find a truck and trailer, told me to call around. I had was on my lunch break so that was stressful. Then I called the second uhaul location and it was the uhaul company so they found me one that was local, which was good. Then I got tex message saying a 2 pick up time but I said 430. So I had to call again and wait forever for someone. Then the next day I got a tex message saying I could drop it off at that William's hwy location. We went there and he was rude and was like nope u cant. He is just had terrible customer service skills, we had to find some one to follow my husband because I had to work. It just seems like not everyone is on the same page. It was very frustrating and stressful.

Maybe it's because I'm a frequent flyer and I know the system but I have always recieved prompt and friendly service at this location. The staff is awesme - Very highly recommended. There are however, numerous problems at the corporate level that are out of the local staff's control. Understaffing causing long waits, for example. But the worst is the decision to block telephone access to the local UHaul location. Instead of talking tpo someone locally calls are rolled over to a call center, with my average wait times on hold over 15 minutes the last 3 times. I literally drove to the location while still on hold to ask one simple question. And, you cannot "change" (extend) a rental online (as it says on the phone/hold recording) once you drive away. You must go through the call center.

This location has always come through for me on customer service, clean and wonderful facility and usually having availability on what I need. We love them and the manager is awesome!

I was disappointed in the processing. Your clerk made an error in writing down the miles from the previos client and they determined that I traveled 35 miles and when I told them we had not even traveled 6 miles or so. I felt very disrespected as though I was lying. I will never take out one of your vehicles without confirmation that your information is accurate.

On check in, I was told the price for the 11 days included 750 miles and I paid 316+. upon return I was told I owed another 400+ because of the mileage (not over 750. A very convoluted explanation by a different agent. I can forward the receipts for both if you are interested. Send me the email address where to direct my formal complaint. We were told that there was about 1/8 of a tank in the truck and if we returned the truck with 1/4 tank, we would have a $20 reduction in our rental bill. We actually had 1/16 of a tank to start and returned it with the upper edge of the gas gauge needle on 1/4 tank mark. The email receipt indicated that the truck only had 3/16 of a tank, which was untrue. Therefore we only received a fuel credit of $7.80, even though I purchased $38 of fuel and only drove 60 miles. I think that people are playing games with the fuel tank in order to cheat customers. Sorry - UHaul is usually so professional. This time, I think my experience fell short of excellent.
