Comment U-Haul Fonctionnement des avisMy low rating has nothing to do with the employees and everything to do with the company as a whole. Moving from Alabama to New York was so painful. Not only did they not have the trucks, trailers, and equipment we had RESERVED months in advance, I had to travel to 4 different cities to get what I could get the DAY OF. So no communication saying “by the way we don’t have what you need and we aren’t going to tell you until you arrive”. Fast forward 4 days of driving across the country to arrive at a storage unit that had not ONE units available to us, you know, the ones we RESERVED?? So the employees were able to find us 2 units and as we were unloading into one unit, the manager came down and asked us to give up the unit because someone who reserved the unit was there for it. So tell me what the point of a RESERVATION is if it doesn’t RESERVE the unit, truck, trailer, or equipment? So not only did they not have what we RESERVED available, they asked us to give up the unit WE PAID FOR for someone else and offered a unit free which we accepted. Spoiler alert, we actually had to pay for the “free” unit we were given for being nice and giving up the unit we paid for to someone who “reserved” it. So we had to pay for 3 units that we didn’t ask for because that’s all they had when we arrived because apparently reservation means something other than the given definition. So would this go any better when we got a house and rented equipment and trucks to move our stuff from the units to the home? Why of course not. We weren’t notified that they didn’t have the equipment we RESERVED and there wasn’t a single appliance dolly within a 2 hour drive. So moving a large fridge with a rinky dinky dolly was super fun and safe. So glad to be done with this company for hopefully numerous years. What a necessary evil. Again, nothing against the employees but against whomever decided this was an excellent business model.

The staff helped me to figure out what size unit I needed and were always easy to talk to. At one point I forgot to lock the unit and they called and informed me so I can head over and lock it. I appreciate the care and communication. Highly recommend for military families especially since it’s right off post
